Exercise IC: Reflect on Your Learning Style

Step 1: Take a minute to think about the kinds of learning experiences you have had previously, especially in writing-based courses. What will help you to succeed in this course? What stumbling blocks or challenges have you had with writing assignments before. What can this course or your instructor do to help you address those challenges?

Step 2: Set a timer for 3 minutes and freewrite about this prompt (for a description of the freewriting process, see UNC Writing Center’s website).

Step 3: Then, share your ideas with your group by posting your paragraph in your group’s Google doc. As a group, collaboratively write a list of topics related to writing that you would like to address in this class in your Google doc.
