Exercise IA: Research at UNC

Step 1: Browse the https://endeavors.unc.edu/ website. Find a recent story that interests you (each group member will select their own article). 
Step 2: Include a link to your story in your group’s Google doc. Then answer these questions individually about the article you read: 
  1. Who is profiled in the study? How are they connected to UNC? 
  2. What research project is described in the study? 
  3. What problem or challenge are researchers addressing with this project? How does the story describe the importance of this research? 
  4. Were undergraduate students involved in the research or included in the article and if so, how? 
  5. What does this article tell us about what it is like to study at a research university? What difference does it make for students to be at an institution where faculty and students are actively doing research? What difference does it make for the kinds of compositions you will write at UNC?
