Exercise 2-3E: Style in Humanities Writing

With your group, assign each person a different discipline to study. Then, use UNC databases to locate a research article in that field.

Using the list under Outcome 4, examine the how active voice, literary present, and limited use of first-person perspective appear in that article. Do the articles you’ve found reflect that pattern, or do different disciplines in the humanities seem to have different conventions? 

Share your findings with the class and develop a list of variations you have noticed across humanities disciplines.
